Tornado spotted over Lancashire

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Recently UK weather has been threatening to give a few tornadoes, see below for the latest sighting.

“The Met Office has confirmed the weather in the Hutton area was “conducive to tornadoes” at the weekend although it had not received any reports of unusual weather conditions in the area.” Source

This coming only a few days after we had the most violent clap of thunder I have probably ever heard around here. The storm that was over our house eventually destroyed the home of an old lady a few miles down the road.

Bank holiday sun

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

The weather recently has been far from sunny, however I just found this charming little story from England:

“‘Because I took my holidays in the UK, I would never have thought I was in a high risk category,’ said Lee Jordan, web designer. ‘I was shocked to discover how far the melanomas had progressed by the time the doctors looked at them. Young people in particular need to be aware that there is an easy way to get their skin checked for this most dangerous of diseases.’” Source

It’s then typical that the weather is rather wet and dull! But seriously the UV Index is creeping up, while focusing on sun protection for your summer holiday, bear in mind the dangers of the pub lunch, or the gardening, or the journey on the sunny side of a train, or chosing to wear shorts not jeans ….. and on and on. Then of course comes mole watch.

Geomagnetic storm then 7.5 Earthquake

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

It wasn’t the sun that sent this weeks KP index up, it appeared to be a Gamma Ray Burst that hit our planet. Just days later a 7.5 Magnitude quake hit, Mozambique in Africa. A good example about how knowing a little bit about space weather and then watching out for seemingly unusual natural events. Floods are coming up in the global picture at the moment.

However the GRB could also have sparked off some pretty (but weak) light shows in the polar regions. The sun is very quiet at the moment yet the planet is being hit by other types of energy.

Explosion : gas low for cold week in UK

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

A Birmingham MP today warned of forced power cuts due to a recent explosion at a gas storage facility will leave supplies tight in the UK running into next week. With the recent cold snap forcast to run into next week we could be seeing the lights go out if we as a nation don’t turn off the heating when we don’t need it on.

“In the short term, however, the UK is on a knife edge in terms of gas supplies. An explosion at the country’s main storage field has left the UK with accessible supplies of just two days. If there is prolonged bad weather in the next month, the shortage of gas could lead to power cuts.” Source

Yellow snow in Russia

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2006

Could this be a possible sign of increased volcanic activity rather than some unreported massive leak from Russia’s energy industy? Certainly is an interesting sign if a volcano somewhere did cause this.

Why volcanoes again Mr Jordan? Well the climate as we know is driven by the sun, particles from volcanoes could cause global dimming, where by solar radiation is reflected away from the planets surface , which could over decades lead us to more normal winters and then abnormal winters and then another little ice age.

Freaked out after Gamma Ray Burst

Sunday, January 29th, 2006

A recent flalsh of energy from a distant star has lasted 700 seconds. Why do I write about this, well because of some strange coincidences recently. The sun hasn’t been very active recently, nothing higher than C-Class flares, but the geomagnetic field around the planet has been at unstable to stormy, with the KP index going red just a few days ago ….. so these events I wish to relate to the recent Gamma Burst.

Gives you a different perspective on the news all this kind of stuff does.

Echos of humanity

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

Ok this reminds me partly of the plot of Frequency. I’m getting interference on all surround sound speakers of some kind of foreign speech programme, it sounds European, I guess shortwave radio. Fading in and out, this is not uncommon at all and is a well known effect of the ionosphere. Want to know something else? This morning in this area we had troubles with radio recpetion, it was mentioned and affected areas were marked out by very local motorway junction numbers during a traffic report, so all the way to work I had radio problems.

So going back to the ionosphere, there must be something happening there, extra energy at that level of some kind. We are just getting over a recent gemomagnetic storm, which didn’t come from the sun, waoooooh, there was a recent burst of energy from a distant sector of the milky way, I guess someone elses sun blowing up … I kid you not! I know it sounds geeky but it seems very interesting.

Read as a sign of a shift of energy, precursor to a natural event … welcome to the Jordy zone!

Volcanoes are poping, quakes are shaking

Thursday, January 12th, 2006

Aside from the recent spread of Avian Flu, there are a big number of significant Earth Changes occuring around the world. Put your global warming hat away for a sec, aside from the strange weather events there are signs to be read. La Nina may be building up for example and that appears to be a natural swing of energy, as is the magnetic pole shift from the core of the planet and/or the sun. The last memerable quake for me reading on the web was very deep into the planet, things are happening.

The 10th of Jan could have been a trigger day for some world events, building tensions with iRan as well as H5N1 in Turkey and H5N2 in Japan. The End Times folks are having a feild day right now, but it sure is interesting to follow some freaky deaky thinking. Something is in the air, some kind of change or some significant thing will grab our attention.

The Mayan elders are talking about this year, but that could be a natural process of new year or similar period of time and their up coming day of “lord of esquipulas”. Interesting times perhaps time to change or adapt.

-10C Blast In UK; Coldest In Decades

Thursday, December 29th, 2005

Brrrrrr it’s cold, even in the Midlands, coldest day for 5 years in Brum today. I have a stinking head cold, have been ill for nearly a week now! The sun is peppered with sunspots. The lights went off in Canada, in a similar fashion to what happened there in 1989.

“Britain is bracing itself for more icy blasts and heavy snow with even colder conditions moving in. Workers have already been greeted with freezing and icy weather as they return to work after the Christmas break. More travel chaos is predicted as temperatures plunge to as low as -10C overnight.” Source

Meanwhile, apart from there being major snow problems in much of Europe as seen here, Italy is a worthy mention :

White Florence : first in 20 years

“Florence, Italy has awoken this morning to a covering of snow for the first time in 20 years. A heavy snowfall which fell throughout almost the entire night, has covered the city’s buildings and monuments with 10-12 cm of snow” Source

Superstorm 2005

Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

Apart from a Tornado in Melborne and the recent surge in wind and rain around the world, Hurricane Wilma could collide with tropical storm Alpha, the first storm named on the greek alphabet. Let’s see how it plays out but the East Coast of the states may possibly be in for a rough one. Could the season draw to a close with such a super storm?

“Some locations in the highest elevations of West Virginia and across southern New York state and New England will receive in excess of a foot of snow … There also is the potential for extensive wind damage. Wind will gust to 70 mph” Source

Could the end of Wilma hit the UK or Spain over the weekend?

“I was looking at the pressure system charts and Wilma is edging up the coast of the U.S.A before crossing the atlantic heading towards spain area before edging north to southern Ireland and England on Saturday.” Source
