I have an appointment coming up to discuss the results of the MRI scan I had on my left calf. I was advised to get the results sooner rather than later as a consultant had said there was something showing on the scan that needed looking at, I just checked and the scan results are ready. It certainly beats waiting until the end of March to get them!

Apart from that I have some new music to ring in the new year, I want to build a really nice singer songwriter playlist for the summer months. I should also change the strings on my acoustic guitar and dust off the chord books :)

Plus a set of surround sound speakers and Bluetooth headphones for my PC are on the way as I feel I need to upgrade my listening expereince in here, way too flat and urm converntional at the moment. I’d also like to go to Summer Sundae this year in Leicester. Yes one of my new years resoultions, to enjoy the summer once again.

    Hi Lee,
Well done for creating a very thought-provoking, courageous and informative website. I wish you all the very best.
I thought I’d send you my email address in case you are interested in hearing about a national walk for skin disease and its media launch - I don’t want to treat your blog as a charity advert so email me if you want more details and I’ll send them to you direct!
Either way - all the very best.

I read the story featuring you on the BBC website today, it was very inspiring for me: A man diagnosed with cancer is working to spread the awareness from a true patient’s outlook. It was also interesting to note that despite the malignancy of the cancer, you are very determined to live; you make plans, future strategies, etc. I am confident you will be able to beat cancer if you continue in the same spirit.

Please continue to provide your experiences to the world. And more importantly, continue to love your life in order to beat cancer and live. Our prayers are with you.

    Lee,
You are facing a most stressful time. My thoughts are with you. I am a 5 year survivor of breast cancer, whatever that means. I hope you become a 5-year cancer survivor too. All the best wishes….

I admire you so much for everything you are doing. You will change the life of many people who, before visiting your blog, don’t even remember to check if there’s a mole in their own bodies and now, will pay attention on this, from today on (like me). I wish you to be ok soon. I will pray for you.

(Sorry, I don’t speak English very well-I’m from Brazil)

    Hi there Lee,

I have colorectal cancer and have had it since being diagnosed on the 1st Feb 2005 (i’m so young to get this cancer too as i’m only 38 yrs old!). I now have a permanent colostomy bag and have no rectum. Lets face our worries together!

I wish you all the best for the results of your MRI scan.
I’ll keep checking your site for news,

    Denise xx

  9. Sue Higginbottom :

    Dear Lee

I read about your website via the BBC daily e-mails I receive. Our daughter Nicola Anne Higginbottom sadly died of Malignant Melanoma in April 2002 at the age of 24. She was first diagnosed in May 1998 as she had a mole on her shoulder. She had a skin graft and recovered well from her operation. She was apparently free of cancer for 3 years but it returned and spread to her lymphatic system in 2001. Nicola had numerous operations to try to stop the cancer from spreading and was extremely brave thoughout her illness.

It is excellent that you have created a website with a diary about your skin cancer. We support a charity called SCaRF (Skin Cancer Research Fund) which is based at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol where Nicola was treated. We live in Minehead which about 75 miles from Frenchay.

I send my best wishes to you and would love to hear from you.

Hi, I’ve just noticed the date - good luck for Thursday. I think you’re being very patient - If I’d known the results were ready weeks ago I would have to have known them then and there…but I have learnt while looking after my husband that when you’re dealing with the NHS, patience is a necessary virtue! Good luck again, I look forward to you next blog entry.
