Power cuts, latest round

Articles have been flying around this week about companies forcing power cuts on customers. Upto 3 hours at a time, due to the rising running cost of mainly gas fired power stations, about 40% of the countrys supply comes from Natural Gas.

Guess what?
Monday : Birmingham went down
Friday : Wolverhampton went down

Schools were closed Monday as a power cuts hit parts of Birmingham City Centre and the nearby inner city districts, for three hours the leccy was off. All this week, traffic lights were partly out on Wolverhamptons main ring road, today a powercut hit Wolves.

Now there is another twist, we are in a geomagnetic storm, but not from the sun, it’s crazy ass stuff so I won’t dabble in that kind of conjecture just yet, but once again we are in a period of instability with technology, and perhaps even the weather. The recent gusts have blown down our perfectly stable Gazeebo in the garden … oh dear!
