Katrina : Human cost
Even though I have been following extreme weather for the past few weeks and noting the impact of geomagnetic storms, I’m shocked as to the amount of destruction Katrina brought to the point where I couldn’t watch the news. Just so many lives ripped apart by a nautral event of nature and that’s the first major hit, 11 storms already and the season runs till November … If a storm brewed off the coast of France and if the sun hit us again, then oh boy.
I just know people will look at global warming, but compare the solar activity of the past month to events that have unfolded. Despite NASA giving the “quiet sun” message, something major is going on with our star. Katrina whipped up to Cat5 in a matter of hours just days after the solar flares and related space storms on August 24th. From about August 19th I had a sense something was going on with the impact on Earth, GIC’s leading to power outages sparking it all off. It’s obviously very hard to say for sure but my thought patterns are more geared toward the Sun Earth connection
Katrina, the wider issues in Europe and that freak tornado that hit my home city have all kinda galvanised my opinion on how flares millions of miles away can affect us, and I saw it unfold with a different perspective. It’ll get worse … and not really because of global warming, but rather because we are in a cycle of change that is perfectly normal, yeah abnormal to us but normallity in relation history.
Even though I know all I do now, it’s still shocking to see the raw power.
