Spanish in war over water
Could the current effects of the Sun on our planet be sparking a different kind of resource war? We went to war in iRaq for a resource, Australia are continuing to claim the stake over East Timor’s resource … Oil!
But natural resources such as clean water and food crops could soon spark wars and it doesn’t seem that silly that tight supplies of things like that could spark the worst side of humanity.
Spanish golf course highlights resource war
“A wall made of concrete blocks separates this oasis from the dried out fields. On one side of the wall is nothing but dust and sand. Spain is about to die of thirst. Only tiny portions of the country appear not to be affected … Murcia does not just need water for golf courses. It also needs water for its orange, peach and apricot plantations. Mancha have decided to stop supplying water to its neighbours from its River Tajo because of the drought. There is now what could be called a war between the two regions”
“Spain is rationing water amid its worst drought for 60 years, draining public swimming pools. Portugal’s crops are so badly hit it has applied for EU food assistance. Severe droughts are hitting countries from Cuba to Cambodia to Australia.” article
