While listening to my recommends on last.fm this amazingly powerful voice started playing, I was hooked right away on Ellie Goulding who has stepped into the limelight and has been tipped as the hottest sound of 2010.
I’m a big fan of acoustic music, but her voice on this track, Wish I Stayed is what caught me, very much similar to Julia Stone, Cerys Matthews, broken and raw in a very powerful emotional combination which is what I appricate in vocal style, some umph! She carries this track off with a great accent too, similar in intonation to Jack Pentate. If that gives some indication of what you may find in this voice, if not play the video, it certainly is worth a watch! Her album is out March 1st 2010.
